Hávamál, The Saying of Odin, Stanza 23
Hail and welcome! This is Huginn's Heathen Hof, with your Daily Hávamál.
Original-
Ósviðr maðr
vakir um allar nætr
ok hyggr at hvÃvetna
þá er móðr
er at morni kømr
alt er vil sem var
Translation-
The foolish man lies awake at night
thinking of tomorrows problems
then he is tired
when morning comes
and all his troubles are the same
-Hávamál: Stanza 23
This is one of my favorite stanzas. (Top five, easily)
Sometimes you have a problem, and there's just nothing at all you can do about it RIGHT NOW. Some things can't be prepared for, not everything has a "quick fix". If you spend all of your time worrying about the things you can't change, you'll never get anything done.
Today's "Daily Hávamál" was brought to you by Huginn's Heathen Hof.
