Shouldn't people's penises retract when flaccid?
Shouldn't people's penises retract when flaccid? I don't understand how that wouldn't be normal as it would seem both you (the individual or whoever) and nature would make more sense retracting than it being big and in the way more liable to get caught on things? I don't get it. Unless maybe it is to show off to other creatures beings or what have you. Certainly not neccesary if you can get it to a full seven inches size when erect, right? Especially in modern times where we wear clothes.
When we started walking upright, there was no longer a reason for retraction. Instead we learned to heat up and perspire, cooling our bodies which increased our endurance for hunting or running. We grew hair around our bits as a means of lubrication and as a means wicking away perspiration. Even the early of human primates, there was a covering fashioned to protect that area.
Other species walk on all fours and their bits are closer to the ground obviating the need to protect themselves and not drag everything through the dirt.They are also able to lick themselves down there for cleanliness. Fortunate for them.
If you get into street fight, or experience severe turbulence in an aircraft or other perceived life-threatening situations, you will notice that we still retract. A throwback to evolution.
Everyone's a bit different. I find that many "shrink" based on gravity, body core temperature and blood flow on the rest of the body during physical work. There are "showers" like me (bigger than average), that always look pretty semi-hard and large compared to others. Some in the change rooms get embarrassed as they're smaller. Am I so impressed about me that I would show off and prance around in the change room? No. It's normal for most to be small and shrank down. They may be just as big as me when erect. So, I don't judge them for being "growers." I like them when the erection is more dramatic because of it.
But why does this happen? Genetics and different societies have different attractions to a man's penis's size that indicates their strength and providing status.
When I show my penis off to other beings they point and laugh, I don't get that?
Perhaps it is a genetics thing stemming back to your progenitors. If they were hangers then stands to reason that you would be also, I.E. many African tribes, South Pacific Tribes etc all have longer softies (for the most part if you look to history and the practice of penis worship) However Asian men ages ago were more into wrapping and protecting the "staff or life" so it goes to figure that if they passed on a gene it might be for a grower. ( god dont you just love late night cable TV
