Those great old BOATS must have been from the days when gasoline was 11 cents per/ gallon.  LOL.

I love the old land yachts. I have owned a few older caddies and  Continentals . nothing like a 3 tons pillow rolling down the road at 80mph. I own a 2014 ATS caddie. powerful yes  but way too small. One of my favs was a 1972 Cadillac coup deville, 21ft long 3 tons and plenty of room in the back seat for fun. Nice post love the old cars.

One of my favorite movies is called "The Silver Bears", starring Michael Caine, Louis Jourdan, and a very young Jay Leno (his only movie role).

There is a wonderful line in it when Louis Jourdan, playing the role of an Italian Prince, is driving a 1937 Buick and says "My Father always said a man is defined by only two things - his motor car (and I forget the other one)"

Not the best photograph but you get the general idea.

Those were great day when Detroit made cars that made people feel proud. Then labor unions and socialism arrived.....
