If he's got a good personality (sense of humor & courtesy/manners & interested in you as well as in himself), sure.  He can always lose weight.  But it's extremely rare that a guy with a lousy personality can change into being a gem.

My old school mate  is a chubby and we often get it together   when he's in the area and by god does he know how to please a bloke.

I think most people at first glance will not like fat people. (I'm one, i don't even like my self). But once you get to know one, you will usually see past the short-comings of someone's appearance and will accept a person for what he is. not what he looks like.
