Having just put a comment on Justin's blog "accepting money and not feeling bad about it", I feel this would be a nice addendum (dendum dendum, doesn't this word sound funny?).

Aged 22, after spending a summer on the west coast with my boyfriend, we came back east and stopped at my mom's place. I had not seen her in more than a year, and had come out to her at the time, telling her I had a boyfriend...

Although being a 6'2" dirty blond hunk, my friend was kinda nervous at the prospect of meeting her... She was so happy to see me! Her welcome was nothing but incredible to me. She made supper and installed us in my old family bedroom... In the morning, she had washed BOTH our clothes, and they needed washing after a 4 day hitchicking trip across Canada...
