Does anyone know what hymn this is playing at the beginning here? It's beautiful in its acoustic Irish folkish way, eh.

Ode to Joy, Beethoven's 9th Symphony is also used to quell and calm tigers after they escape from the London Zoo and are about to eat a Rock Star who happens to be in the cellar of a pub. Don't believe me? Ask Ringo Starr. It's also one of my favorite and most often listened to pieces of music.
Thanks!
It's the last part of the 4th movement of Beethoven's 9th Symphony aka Choral Symphony.

devon is spot on. Ode to Joy is virtually like the Europeans' anthem. The chorus is sung in German.
