Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip dies at 99 years of age.
Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth II's husband, has died aged 99, Buckingham Palace has announced.
The prince married Princess Elizabeth in 1947, five years before she became Queen, and was the longest-serving royal consort in British history.
A statement from Buckingham Palace said: "It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
"His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle."
Prince Philip and the Queen had four children, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
she'll not be far behind him
I'm not really a royalist or supportive of the monarchy but his life and actions were actually quite interesting tho after several hours of royal anecdotes broadcast by the BBC today I sort of tuned out im not part of his generation the war and stuff and just think after brexit when the Queen dies the UK might be up the creek for a bit just wonder if the monarchy is a bit outdated ? what next ? hey and the loyalist in Northern Ireland seem upset but that's a hot potatoe im not touching don't think brexit went the way they wanted still nice to gave a blog bout uk issues rather than us politics .... anyway peas bro
