Not forget that todays woman have really unrealistic claims at man, income, car and loft size, attractiveness, but also complain about feminism and that more straight forward mans are bad, but in great cities here in germany you see that young german girls are more interested in arabic and turkish guys that impersonate this persona and that the more passive german boys got casted aside. Not in mass, but it's something that is happening. It is getting difficult for a growing up boy to meet conlicting requirements.

So becoming gay isn't an option for heterosexual boys, for a bi guy like me in the past it was often less strenuous to uphold a relationship with a other guy than with a woman (especially when the woman keeps putting you off until later on the question of having children)
