A Love Letter to GBT
I tried posting this on Nick's Blog but alas there's something wrong in posting there too, so here's a redux.
As an avid member of this community for over a decade, I want to first thank Nick (Sean) for his work in bringing this site into existence. I know the amount of work to create, maintain, and sustain this site takes a herculean effort. Thanks to you goes unsaid a lot. As a teen who discovered this site during his late night explorations, it was a treasure trove of goodies I gored myself on.
However, it seems that with every update to the site, instead of a new feature added, some function is taken away, things get jumbled, or some unintended change becomes permanent and we cannot revert back. Whether it's photos or videos not uploading correctly or at all, photos albums being deleted for no understandable reason (no underage or questionable pictures), wall posts eradicated, long time correspondences with friends disappearing for no reason, favorite videos scrambled or deleted randomly, getting logged off randomly for no reason, and a surfeit of other problems, it seems clear GBT is an empty husk of it's former glory. These constant downgrades leaves a lot to be desired and it hurts knowing just how much I miss the old GBT.
I am not privy to the inner machinations of this site or the many dynamics and personalities keep this site running. Part of me is glad I don't know it because based on the gossip and stories I have heard from members (if it can be believed) there are some long standing grudges which seems petty and inappropriate on a gay video/photo site. However, it seems your stark indifference to your life's work leaves me at a point where maintaining my favorites and corresponding with likeminded perverts seems more of a chore. When I first joined, I loved making friends, browsing their uploads and favorite videos and getting off knowing we both shared the same kinks or interests. The sense of community that posting on someone's wall of a cute guy in all manner of poses and states of undress was engaging. Now, it's defunct. Perhaps you can trust your life's work to a trusted user like Rubax while you go on vacation to recharge.
For the past year or so, I've been going through the motions hoping things will change for the better but alas I think I've reached the end. I'm giving myself until Sunday before I officially close and delete my account. Thank you for what you've accomplished in creating this site and thank you to the hundred of members uploading the best amateur videos. I still believe a passionate self made video of gay guys going at it supersedes two hot gay-for-pay actors going through the motions. You guys have helped draining my balls with some of the most amazing finds I've always ended up favoriting. I wish everyone on this site a safe and happy life. Please keep safe and don't be afraid to send a kind word to a fellow member (even if it's to compliment them on an excellent upload).
I see your point, and there's a lot of truth in what you said. So I do understand the frustration you feel, up to a certain point. At the end of the day, GBT is nothing but a gay porn site. Guys come here to browse through the latest uploaded vids, beat one out (or two, three...) and move on. It does have more features for members to interact with each other, than any other porn site I know... but it remains a porn site. Maybe you should not delete your account. There is absolutely no need for that. I've been away from GBT for months on end... but my browser still remembered my username and password, so I could come back, check things out and snoop around again. All with my OLD account. It's OK to move on, check other sites, make friends elsewhere, if that's what you want. But don't just tear down the bridge for no reason. It's not like you have to make space for anyone. Move on for now. Come back any time you feel like doing so. Use your familiar login data, be familiar to those that may still remember your name and are happy to see your footprints on GBT once again.

A lot of members left already. I do not see Dralion nor Rampman pages deleted (suppose by owners). Just examples. Sad, people leaving GBT :(

A lot of never-ending maintenances just bring in a lot of frustration. People just give-up.
Perhaps it could be better to clear/delete/formate all servers and start from the scratch.
