I agree with @MARTYMARTY123 Neils had no idea it was the coach who blew him yet as the story progressed his suspicions rose and he came to the shocking realization. The film really makes a powerful statement about sexual abuse and the repercussions brought about by them, especially when the perpetrator is someone a person respects and regards with trust. The ending adds to the unsettling intensity that Neils has wrestled with and has been scared of and leaves the viewer wondering what his eventual decision over the situation will be. It is unfortunately one that happens time and again to people who do not know they have been sexually molested and are conflicted about speaking up about it or not. Very thought-provoking and highly resonant film that covers the topic dramatically well.
@MARTYMARTY123 I don't think Neils knew it was the coach until later. He was in denial, but you're probably right that he suspected. That's why he left that night when he couldn't find his girl and his coach was the only one around. The filmmaker did a good job of giving us clues to what the boy was thinking, such as in the shower scene (12:23 for my fellow perverts) when Neils watched his teammates while covering his penis, then looked his coach in the... no not eye, mouth. That was a strong clue that he was figuring it out. -- Later, when the coach sat next to Neils on his bed the boy panicked and ran off, but that night when the coach jerked off next to him, the boy lay silently without reaction. In the end we're left with a pensive boy and no resolution. Was this film an anti-molestation statement? Or was it entertainment for pederasts? Perhaps a bit of both.
