There have been at least five major cities that woke up Thursday to an interesting surprise: a life-sized, comically exaggerated, and COMPLETELY NAKED statue of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. The statues were publicly, ahem, erected in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Cleveland and Seattle, and they triggered an absolute frenzy of photographs, mockery, and general online bemusement.

It has rescued me so many times from ceasing to care that I can't count them. That this man - this gay man - under duress, lonely and sometimes in despair could defy all that and create what is to me the greatest work of art in human history is what makes Tchaikovsky my hero.
